The first week started strongly, with daily burns ranging from 33,129 USTC to 116,679 USTC. Activity then became more mixed during the middle of the month before several larger burns pushed the total higher.
The second half of August included several notable burn days. August 18, August 19, August 20 and August 21 each recorded more than 90,000 USTC burned, followed by the month’s largest event on August 27.
What the USTC Burn Means for Terra Classic
USTC burns permanently reduce the amount of USTC in circulation. While monthly burn totals alone do not guarantee a price increase, continued burns contribute to the broader effort to reduce the token’s supply over time.
For the Terra Classic community, the August total provides another measure of ongoing burn activity as efforts continue to reduce the USTC supply.
The 1.93 million USTC burned in August also highlights how individual large burn events can have a significant impact on monthly results. The 311,613 USTC burn on August 27 accounted for a substantial portion of the month’s total.
