USTC Burn Surpasses 518,000 in One Week as Daily Activity Accelerates
The USTC burn activity has gained momentum in early October, with more than half a million USTC burned in just seven days.
From October 1 through October 7, a total of 518,499 USTC was burned, according to the reported daily burn figures. The weekly total was heavily supported by a sharp increase on October 5, when more than 300,000 USTC was burned in a single day.
The latest figures highlight continued activity around USTC supply reduction as the Terra Classic community remains focused on reducing the circulating supply of the stablecoin.
USTC Burn Reaches 518,499 in Seven Days
The total USTC burn between October 1 and October 7 reached 518,499 USTC.
While daily burn activity varied significantly throughout the week, October 5 recorded the largest burn by a wide margin, accounting for 306,955 USTC.
The other six days recorded smaller burn figures, ranging from 13,868 USTC to 86,535 USTC.
Daily USTC Burn From October 1 to October 7
| Date | USTC Burn |
|---|---|
| October 1 | 42,223 |
| October 2 | 29,506 |
| October 3 | 86,535 |
| October 4 | 19,486 |
| October 5 | 306,955 |
| October 6 | 19,926 |
| October 7 | 13,868 |
| Total | 518,499 |
The October 5 figure represents approximately 59.2% of the entire seven day total, making it the key contributor to the week’s USTC burn activity.
October 5 Becomes the Strongest Burn Day
The most notable development during the week was the sharp increase in USTC burn activity on October 5.
A total of 306,955 USTC was burned that day, significantly higher than the 19,486 USTC recorded on October 4.
The increase means October 5 alone accounted for more than half of the USTC burned during the seven day period.
However, daily burn activity returned to lower levels on October 6 and October 7, with 19,926 USTC and 13,868 USTC burned respectively.
Why USTC Burns Matter
USTC burns reduce the amount of USTC in circulation. In simple terms, when USTC is permanently burned, those tokens are taken out of the available supply.
Supply reduction is an important part of the broader Terra Classic community discussion surrounding USTC.
However, burns alone do not guarantee a specific price outcome or a return to a particular value. The impact of supply reduction depends on several factors, including demand, liquidity, market conditions and the overall adoption of USTC.
For this reason, burn figures are best viewed as one metric when tracking the long term development of USTC.
More Than Half a Million USTC Burned in One Week
The 518,499 USTC burned between October 1 and October 7 adds another notable figure to the ongoing USTC supply reduction activity.
The weekly data also shows how burn activity can be highly concentrated on individual days. In this case, October 5 was responsible for the majority of the week’s total.
As the Terra Classic community continues to monitor USTC supply, future burn activity will remain an important metric to watch.
The next key question is whether higher burn activity can continue beyond individual spikes and contribute to a sustained reduction in USTC supply over time.
Note: Burn figures represent the reported USTC burned during the stated period. Burn activity should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future price performance or a return to any specific price target.
